If we could pick only one word to sum up what forecasters say is ahead for Houston in 2019, it would be “growth.”
That’s what Patrick Jankowski, an economist and senior vice president of research for the Greater Houston Partnership, told business leaders in early December, according to the Houston Chronicle.
“The economy is in the best shape it’s been since 2013 and 2014,” Jankowski said.
Employment is expected to grow across all sectors next year, with health care leading the way. By the end of 2019, it’s predicted there will be 3.2 million payroll jobs, a net increase of more than 600,000 jobs over the past 10 years.
That’s a lot of jobs — only New York, Los Angeles and that Texas neighbor to the north (Dallas) have created more over the same period.
What does that mean? More people will be shopping, and home values should be on the rise. And that means now is the perfect time to consider purchasing a new home. See what’s available in Dellrose community in Hockley, TX today and be part of Houston’s amazing future.
