Empire CommunitiesEmpire Continental Land is continuing its expansion into the Texas market, with the start of its sixth local community
Empire, one of Canada’s leading developers and homebuilders, has started development of a 206-acre parcel west of State Highway 146 and north of FM 646 in League City. The community will offer approximately 540 homes, as well as community lakes, parks, trails and a recreation center with a pool and splash pad. Prices are expected to begin in the mid $200s.
“This new development is a complement to our other Houston communities,” said Steve Sellers, Texas Land Division President. “With a bigger emphasis on smaller product and 50’ lots, our new community in League City will continue to provide a strong line-up of leading builders offering quality housing for Houston’s diversified economy.”
Empire also is developing Dellrose, a 600-acre master-planned community in northwest Houston near Highway 290 and the Grand Parkway. Other Empire U.S. developments include Katy Trails in Katy, Sommerall Park in Houston, Hidden Lakes in League City, and Lakeside in Georgetown.
“With 25,000 home starts and recognition as top 3 in the nation, Houston is an attractive market for Empire to expand its US operations,” said Andrew Guizzetti, EVP and CFO. “Home sales have been holding relatively steady despite slumping oil prices with Houston continuing to be a strong choice for people relocating to the area.”
Empire Continental Land is the US Land Division for Canadian company Empire Communities, which has built more than 10,000 new homes and condominiums over the past 20 years in the Toronto and Southwestern Ontario areas. With over 1,000 acres and 4,000 homesites under development in the US market, Empire’s experienced team is poised for growth and success.
